The first thing to do if you are coming to Brazil is, of course, is reserve your flight tickets. There are a lot of cheap options, even in the Internet, to get good fares.
CHEAP FLIGHTS TO BRAZIL
Brazil has his own airlines like Varig and Tam, and you could find good scheduled and frequently flights if you are coming from the United States or Europe, ad both companies flies domestically and internationally.
For the internal flights, you should be aware that the tickets are not that cheap and that even when flying domestically you have to pay a departure tax (between 50 and 60 U$S).

If you are coming from the United Sates Flight time is eight hours from Miami to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, ten hours from New York, just over nine hours from Atlanta, thirteen from Los Angeles and sixteen from San Francisco.
Bear in mind that to get into Brazil you must have a passport with expiry date exceeding 6 months.
For Americans citizens a Visa is required. But for most of the European countries (Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal) the visa is not required.
